For its log homes, Honka uses only wood from the highly resistant Nordic pine. The extreme growth conditions in Finland force the pines to grow slowly with a reduced moisture balance. The narrow-ringed wood is extremely resistant with excellent dimensional stability. Compared to pine wood from more southern regions, the Nordic pine also has a better thermal insulation value.

The special profiles of the round logs mean that the joints are absolutely solid. Even after many decades, the walls are just as solid as on the first day.

The rectangular logs are also fitted with exact, tight-fitting wedge profiles. This allows heating energy to remain inside your Honka log home.
